Mrs. Julia Jeanette Mixon was born on November 15, 1944. She was the only child of John Samuel Pride and Johnnie Pearl Pride. She departed this life on Friday, June 30 at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Julia attended Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama where she was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education on August 6, 1966. She was a retired AT&T Telephone Operator. She loved to cook and plant beautiful flowers. Julia was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted Aunt, Mercy D. Burns.
She is survived by her loving husband, Carleton Mixon, who she married on July 5, 1972 to whom she was the light of his life and one devoted son, Carleton Mixon, Jr., to whom she meant the world, both of Decatur, Alabama. For both, her death will leave a void in their lives that can never be filled. However, a lifetime of love and memories will be with them always.
She is also survived by three committed and special cousins; Alethia Burgess, Alice Lee, and Leatrice Sharpley all of Moulton, Alabama; her in-laws: Dolores Henderson, Dr. Gloria Mixon, Donald and Linda Mixon, Elmer Mixon (Peggy, deceased), Lucille Mixon (Earl, deceased), Melvin and Joyce Mixon, Naomi Mixon (Fred, deceased), Gracie Mixon (Norman, deceased), Theophilus Charles and Clemmie Mixon. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
