Ronnest "Peter" Earl Cosby, 71, of Town Creek passed away, Saturday, October 14, 2023. Public viewing will be held at Jackson Memory Funeral Home, Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 - 5:00. The funeral will be at 1:00, Saturday,

October 21, 2023 at Little Star C.P. Church in Town Creek, AL. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Town Creek.

Ronnest "Peter" Earl Cosby was born on September 6, 1952 in Richmond, ID. He was the son the late Willie B. Steelman and Betty Lee Cosby. He departed this life on October 14, 2023 at North Alabama Medical Center.

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined  First M.B. Church in Town Creek, AL. He later moved his membership to Little Star C.B. Church in Town Creek. Ronnest graduated from Hazelwood High School in 1973 where he excelled in football and basketball. 

Ronnest was preceded in death by his parents Willie B. Steelman and Betty Lee Cosby; a sister Barbara Cosby White.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his children; one son Deshawn Smith of Decatur, AL; tow daughters, Denetrist Orr and Canary Reedus both of Courtland, AL; one bonus daughter Nakia Young of Decatur, AL; three sisters Betty Brown of Leighton, AL, Cora (Dale) Payne, of Trinity, AL, Chiquita Billings of Roberts Dale, AL; three brothers Kenneth(Joann) Cosby of Muscle Shoals, AL, James Cosby, and Barry Cosby both of Town Creek, AL; four grandsons Tarhaun Sherrod of Atlanta, GA, Weston Davis of Decatur, AL, Michael Smith of Huntsville, AL, and Omarion Reedus of Courtland, AL; one granddaughter Naomi Thompson of Courtland, AL; one aunt Dorothy Ford of Leighton, AL;  special friends Dennis Goode of Town Creek, AL, and Minister Bobby Joe Ricks of Courtland, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
