Robert Robinson, 87, of Decatur died Wednesday, September 25th at Decatur Morgan Hospital (DGC). The funeral will be held at 1: 00 pm, Monday September 30th, at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Town Creek with Jackson Memory Funeral Home directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be Sunday from 12-6
Obituary
Mr. Robert Ezell Robinson, son of the late Mr. Henry “Hank” Robinson and the late Mrs. Mary Robinson Reed was born June 23, 1932 in Courtland, Alabama. He departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. He confessed his faith in Christ earlier in life and became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Town Creek, Alabama. In the latter years of his life, he accepted his call into the ministry and received his ordination, by the grace of God, with the full support and aid of his wife. He was a faithful member, minister, and a part of the Agape Love Outreach Ministry until illness kept him from doing so.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepfather, Miller Reed; a stepsister, Miller Louise Reed, and a daughter, Diane.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his supportive wife, Mary Ann Robinson, Decatur, Alabama; four brothers: George Robinson (Ruby), Louisville, KY, Harry Wilson (Martha), Los Angeles, CA, Frank Reid, Long Beach, CA, and Carl Reid (Lela), Hillsboro, AL; three sisters: Marvline Mason, Courtland, AL, Ella Jones (Mose), Town Creek, AL, and Linda Hullett (Charles), Jacksonville, FL; four stepchildren: Leshia Burt (Patrick), Muscle Shoals, AL, Thomas Hill, Jr., Myrtle Beach, SC, Bessie Hill, Antioch, TN, and Keenya Newman (Tyrone), Myrtle Beach, SC; two special god-daughters: Jennifer Frick (Steve), Decatur, AL, and Sherry Williams, Hartselle, AL; a favorite granddaughter, Tre’Bella “Bella” Burt, Muscle Shoals, AL; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
