Naomi Bradford Obituary

Naomi L. Bradford, 98, of Town Creek died December 19, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Wednesday, December 21, at First Baptist Church in Town Creek directly followed by the funeral service. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

 

                                        OBITUARY

Naomi (Noma) was born in Nashville Tennessee to Tom Beaver LeMay and Estelle Crowe LeMay.

She grew up in Town Creek, attended Hazelwood High School, married H.T. Wood, had two sons, and was a long-time resident of Town Creek Alabama. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and served in many capacities there. She was also active in the community where she was elected and served on the City Council for several years.

She was well loved and respected, Noma was known for her generosity in providing and meeting needs for those less fortunate than herself. She was also known for working in her yard and was able to cut grass with her John Deere tractor until she was 91 years old.

She enjoyed cooking and was featured in the Decatur Daily and along with members of her Joy Sunday School Class, shared best loved recipes from their cookbook. She enjoyed travelling as was able to visit many destinations on her bucket list.

She lived a very blessed and fulfilled life surrounded by family and friends for 98 years and enjoyed Alabama football and Braves baseball until the end.

She was preceded in death by Hollis T (H.T.) Wood, James Carroll (Red) Bradford, Granddaughter, Lisa Truong, and Grandson, Geoffrey Wood.

She is survived by two sons, Hollis Wood (Sherry) of Germantown, Tennessee. Tommy Wood (Gail) of Hillsboro, Alabama. Seven Grandchildren: Pennie Glover (Harris), Carmen Sapp (Mitch), Melodie Mallette (Greer), Holly Fisher (Jason), Naomi McGraw (Greg), Dixie Daniels (Nathan), and James Hollis Wood (Beth) and ten Great Grandchildren.
