James Crayton

James Crayton, 77, of N. Courtland died November 5, 2022. The funeral will be held at Jackson Memory Funeral Home, Friday, November 11, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Courtland Cemetery. Public viewing will be at Jackson Memory, Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 10-5. 

James Crayton, affectionately known as  "Crowdic", "Nappychin", was born November 2, 1945 to the late Annie Lee Crayton Willard. He departed this life on November 5, 2022.

James received Christ at an early age.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Lee Crayton Willard. Four brothers: Oscar Willard, Judge Willard, Matthew Willard, and Green Willard, Jr. all of Courtland, Alabama.  One sister, Eunice Mason of Louisville, Kentucky. One daughter, Diana Crayton of Decatur Alabama. Three sons: Melvin Newman of Hillsboro, Alabama,  James Crayton, Jr., and Larry Crayton of Decatur, Alabama. 

He leaves to Cherish his memory,  three daughters: Kimberly (Marcus) Malone of Athens, Alabama, Mary Newman Baldwin of Pleasanton, California, and Carrie (Corey) Davis of Birmingham, Alabama. Four sons: Barry Crayton, Christopher (Nikki) Crayton of Decatur, Alabama; Gary Crayton of Atlanta, Georgia, and Devon (Jackie) Deloney of Athens, Alabama. Five sisters: Bobbie Jean Garth, Susie (Walter) Foster, Linda (Andrew) Bell all of Decatur, Alabama; Mary Billings, and Carolyn Willard both of Courtland, Alabama.  Three brothers: Hamitt Willard, Andrew (Wanda) Willard, Ricky (Tasha) Willard, all from Courtland, Alabama. A special friend, Shantel and a devoted niece, Lilly Boywer, both of Louisville, Kentucky and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
