Gloria "Glee" (Fuqua) Jones

Gloria Fuqua Jones of Decatur, AL gained her wings as she passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 16, 2023. Gloria also known to many who loved and adored her, as “Glee” was born on July 7, 1938 to the loving parents Ella Wee McGahee and Thomas Fuqua lll of Town Creek, AL. There will be a Memorial Service in remembrance at Mt. Zion M.B. Church, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 PM

Gloria shared all the amazing titles of Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Godmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. Gloria was the matriarch of her family. Living and leaving a legacy of love that transcends all things with truth, honor, and integrity. To know her is to love her. Anyone who met Gloria, was drawn to her infectious ability to make you feel loved and welcomed. She radiated, beauty, love, and strength to all who were blessed to be in her presence.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Ella Wee McGahee, Father Thomas Fuqua, lll, Husband Sylvester Jones, two son -in- laws, Oscar Cowley, Alexander Mack, & Great Grandaughter Destiny Riekeberg.

She is survived by her 4 children, Ella Cowley, Lavern Orr (Billy), Sylvester Jones Jr, (Cynthia) and Freda Mack. 3 Grandchildren, Lacretia Riekeberg (Dustin), Josh Orr (Jessica ), & Candace Cowley. Great Grandchildren, Kyngston Orr, Karma Haney, Kamari Orr, & Deuce Riekeberg. God daughters Hazel Garner and Lisa Gholston Orr. And siblings, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Gloria was a lover of Christ. Gloria lived a life to be proud of and pleasing to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I’m sure she was met with a greeting of “well done my good and faithful servant” as she entered those pearly gates. Gloria’s love will forever live on in our hearts.
