Edna Mae Roark was born January 10, 1931 to the late Walter Tally and Margie Westbooks Cox. She attended Flat Rock Elementary as a child then later attended Pisgah Highschool where she graduated in 1949. In 1951 She married W.G. Roark, and they lived in Louisville, KY, Red Bank, TN, and Chattanooga, TN, before settling in Fayetteville, TN for forty years before moving to Hillsboro, AL. While in Fayetteville, she attended Prospect Baptist church before moving to Hillsboro and becoming a member at Mt. View Baptist Church.
Edna was a very kind, well respected lady who always put others before herself. She possessed a positive attitude and loved encouraging people. She enjoyed reading, cross-stich, sewing, and crossword puzzles.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, and grandson Geoffrey Brian Wood.
She is survived by: Daughter, Gail Wood (Tommy) of Hillsboro, Son, Howard Roark (Sharie) of Ann Arbor, MI, Two grandchildren, Melodie Mallette (Greer) of Birmingham, AL, James Hollis Wood (Beth) of Decatur, AL, four great-grandchildren, Hollis and Reese Mallette, and Madelynn and Geoffrey Wood.
