Eddie Lee Marshall Sr., 93, of Decatur passed away Friday, December 8, 2023. Public viewing will be held at Jackson Memory, Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm. The Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm, Friday, December 15, 2023 at Moulton Heights Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Sterrs Cemetery.
Obituary
Mr. Marshall was born July 14, 1930, in Wetumpka, AL. to the late Johnnie Marshall and Mattie Atkins Marshall.
Eddie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Ollie D. Marshall. To this union, nine children were born. Eddie confessed Christ and was a member of the Newcomb Street Church of Christ.
Eddie worked at Fruehauf for 25 years and was a contractor, specializing in blocks and concrete work, in Decatur and the surrounding areas for over 40 years.
Eddie loved to laugh, tell stories, and play the harmonica/harp.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, John Henry Marshall and Willie James Marshall; and four sisters, Lillie Pearl Moore, Catherine Golden, Mattie Freeman and Lois Crawford.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Samuel Marshall, Eddie Marshall Jr. and Patrick Marshall all of Decatur, AL., Victor (Lisa) Marshall of Harvest, AL.; five daughters Mae Sue Daily of Muscle Shoals, AL., Mitze (Dennis) Dunn of Madison, AL., Pamela Marshall, Coretta Marshall and Lachelle (Mike) Bradley all of Decatur, Alabama.
Two sisters, Emma Jean Hoyle of Alexander City, Alabama and Sarah Nell (Lonnie) Ware of Atlanta, Georgia; One brother-in-law David "DL" Cater of Cleveland, Ohio.
Fifteen (15) - Grandchildren; Ariel “Jay” (Doris), Tari, Carey, Monique “Nikki”, Travis, Kathy (Gavin), Victor Jr., Chelsi, Shana, Randy, Whitney “Shae”, Brianna, Dennis, Cierra, Derrick.
Twenty (25) - Great Grandchildren; Brandon, Taylor, Tyrah, Ayden, Landon, Heiress, Calia, Zaria, Angel, Zayden, Jalen, Jamel, JaeLon, DaeShuan, Morgan, London, MaKenzee, Camdon, David, Zion, Brasyn, Kaisyn, Skylynn, Chandler, Elijah and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
