Dorothy Rainey was a loving and compassionate soul who devoted her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. She was known by many for her generous spirit and willingness to help those close to her. She found true joy in service and acts of love. No one ever left her home hungry or with out a big hug. She had a presence of love that will carry on in the hearts of the many people she touched during her time on this earth. Dorothy also had a passion for animals of all kinds. She was a loyal contributor to the Humane Society and never turned away a stray. Dorothy loved to sew, crochet, and watch her daily soap operas, which she referred to as "stories". Many things could be said about Dorothy Rainey and who she was. The most influential memory she left us with is her spirit of compassion and unconditional love for all things living. She will be forever missed and her memory cherished by all of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Annie Ledlow, her husband, T. Victor Rainey, a son David Ray Hughes, a sister; Katherine, Maxine, and Joanne, and one brother, Terry Ledlow.
