Bertha Lee Harris was born February 4, 1923. She was the fifth child of six children born to the late Robert and Sallie Mae Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Langham, Sr; three sons: Robert Langham, Willie B. Langham, and Donald Langham; two daughters: Bobbie Jean Perkins, and Geraldine Newsome.
Bertha accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek, AL. After marriage, she joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member until she was unable to attend. After the death of her husband, she raised their ten children independently. She used to always say " it's just me and the good Lord. He's been good to me."
She was loved by many and had a way of making people laugh. She had a self proclaimed nickname "The Teenager" and she always switched her age backwards on her birthdays, but only when it made her younger. She had personality that could brighten any room. She loved to spend time with her family and walking around on Lennon Hill.
The good Lord called Bertha home on Monday, April 3, 2023. She was blessed to celebrate 100 years of courage, strength, faith, and most of all Love. She will be lovingly remembered by her five devoted children; Annie Mae Neloms of Leighton, AL, Roy Langham(Nadine) of Courtland, AL, Lee Langham of N. Courtland, AL, Bertha Marie Jones of Hillsboro, AL, and Steven Langham (Carolyn) of Town Creek, AL. Daughter in law: Curlie Langham of Town Creek, AL, Sister in Law: Victoria Stevenson of Florence, AL. A host of granddaughters, grandsons, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
