Sallie (Willingham) Mason

Sallie Willingham Mason, 86, of Decatur died Tuesday evening at Huntsville Hospital. The funeral will be 12:00 PM, Friday May 31, 2019 at North Courtland Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Annie Mae Willingham Memorial Gardens. Public Viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 Am - 6:00 PM Thursday, here at Jackson Memory. 

                                                                                                             Obituary:

        Mother Sallie Verge Willingham Mason was born June 30, 1932 in Lawrence County to the late Dave Willingham Jr., and Clezelle Green Willingham. She departed this life May 28, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. Mother Mason accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Courtland Primitive Baptist Church now North Courtland Primitive Baptist Church. Later she joined Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she served faithfully as an Usher and Mother of the church. After the death of her husband, Deacon Bennie Mason in 2016, she rejoined North Courtland Primitive Baptist Church where she served as a Mother of the church until her death.

        She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 60 years, Deacon Bennie Mason; a daughter Glory Bell Barnett Henderson; a son Roosevelt Barnett; three sisters, Libby Sue W. Jackson, Annie Mae Willingham, and Clezelle W. Vinson; four brothers, Connie D. Willingham, John Davis Willingham, George Willingham and Dave Willingham III.

        Mother Mason leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters, Mollie White (Louis) of Courtland, AL, Delores Conner (Raymond) of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Helen W. Jacobs (Victor) of Durham, NC, Pearl Duff of Decatur, AL; six grandchildren, Audrey White Johnson of Decatur, AL, Laron White (Kathy) of Madison, AL, Raymond Conner of Springfield, VA, Kelvis White (Chriscanita) of Harvest, AL, Marque Henderson of Decatur, AL, Karen Conner of Los Angeles, CA; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Annie Pearl Lawrence of Oklahoma City, OK, Annie Girt Jones, Susie Mason of San Jose, CA, Ethel Bailey of Huntsville, AL, Emily R. Mason of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Rev. Preston Mason of North Courtland, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
