Mr. Robert Lee Lynch was born December 26, 1934 in Town Creek, AL to the late Wallace Lynch and Leola Hill Lynch. He departed this life on April 7, 2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital, Parkway Campus surrounded by family members.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace Lynch, Jr., Percy Lynch, Tommie Lynch, and one sister, Mollie Stanley.
He confessed hope in Christ and joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church, where he remained a faithful member until the Lord called him home. "Ray" as he was called by all who knew him served on the Usher Board, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, and the Deacon Board. In 1981 he accepted the "Call" of God on his life to preach the Gospel and was ordained by Reverend Jessie Little in 1992. He was a dedicated and faithful member until the end of his life.
Minister Lynch leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of fifty-eight years, Mrs. Emma Mason Lynch of Hillsboro, AL; two daughters, Brenda (Kerry) Sutherlin of Trinity, AL; Carolyn Reedus of Muscle Shoals, AL; three grandsons; two granddaughters; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grand child; four sisters-in-law, Sadie Lynch of Leighton, AL, Birdia Robinson of Courtland, AL, Mattie (Charles) Thorn of Huntsville, AL, and Hattie Hayes of Rockford, IL, and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
His funeral will be Wednesday, April 12th at 12 noon at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Town Creek. He will be placed in the church one hour prior to his funeral. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion M.B. Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be Tuesday, April 11th from 10-5 followed by a visitation from 5-7 at Jackson Memory.
