Moses Jones Sr. departed this life October 18, 2017. He was born on December 24, 1926 in Lawrence County Alabama to Alice and Burt Jones Jr. He was the oldest child of three children born to this union. Both parents preceded him in death as well as his wife, Annie Lucille Bailey-Jones, two sons; Charles Earl and Jesse B., one sister; Rena Johnson, one brother, Cleveland Jones Sr., one granddaughter; Whittney Charday Jones.

Moses accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and joined Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Deacon Board and sung in the choir until his health began to fail.

He was employed by Northern Company for 27.5 years in Huntsville before he retired. After retirement he didn't stop working, but then he could do what he enjoyed, fishing and gardening. But his pride was in gardening and he grew the biggest vegetable garden each year and don't leave out his watermelons! His family looked forward to the harvest each year because everything that he grew was delicious and he knew it! In his words, :Show your right, cause I know how to do it"!

Moses Sr. was united in holy matrimony to the late Annie Lucille Bailey-Jones and out of this union ten children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory two Daughters; France McCord (Willie) of Decatur and Gladys Lewis (Robert) of Ardmore, six sons; James Jones (Anne) of East St. Louis, IL, Moses Jones Jr. (Ella) of Town Creek, Carl Jones (Yvonne) of Lima, OH., Ronnie Jones of Prattville, Henry Louis Jones of Town Creek, Thomas Jones (Veronica) of Town Creek, Daughter-in-law; Helen Jones of Hyde Park, MA, sister-in-law; Zannie B. Elliot of Harvest, brother-in-law; Posey Bailey Jr. of San Diego, CA, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Devoted grandsons/sons; Lymos and Wayne.
