Jeffery R. Garner, 52, of Decatur died early Monday morning at Decatur Morgan Hospital (PC). The funeral will be held at Mt. Zion M.B. Church, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. Public viewing will be Thursday and Friday between the hours of 10-6 There will be a visitation Thursday 5-6 here at Jackson Memory.
The Obituary
Jeffrey R. Garner was born October 22, 1966 to James M. Garner and the late Amy Hampton Garner. He confessed a life at an early age and baptized in the body of Christ at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Little where he continued to be a devoted church member, choir member and musician.
Jeff was united in Holy Matrimony to Michelle Davis on March 13, 1996. To the union two children was born. He was a very devoted husband to his wife, children, grandchildren, father, mother-in-law and family. Michelle was the love of his life. He was a very loving and giving person with a heart of Gold. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help anybody.
He worked as an Ironwork/Journeyman, Concrete Finisher and Carpenter for 35 years. His present employer was Fluor Daniel. Where he served as a Foreman on his job.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Hampton Garner and sister Diane Garner Ricks.
Jeff leaves fond memories to be cherished by a loving devoted wife and companion of 30 years Michelle Davis; daughter, Tiffany Garner; Son, Quintin Davis Garner; Grandchildren, Brilee Davis, Kison Davis, Ma’riyah Sears, Father; James Garner (Lois) of Town Creek, AL; brothers James A. Garner (Lilia) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Gregory Garner (Veronica) of Louisville, KY; Sisters, Beverly Johnson (Donal) of Hartselle, AL, Angela Wilson (Danthony) of Muscle Shoals, AL; a devoted mother- in-law, Ms. Louise Davis; brothers-in-law, Donnie Davis, Eduardo Davis (Karen) both of Decatur, AL; sister-in-law, Lawanda Davis of Moulton, AL. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative & friends.
