Emma Jones Obituary

Emma Sue Porter Jones, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Town Creek "the Red Bank community" died Sunday, January 20, 2019.  The funeral will be 1 p.m Saturday, January 26, at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Red Bank Church Cemetery. 

 

Mrs. Emma Sue Porter Jones was born December 23, 1936 to the late Al B. Porter and Minnie Sanders Porter in Town Creek Alabama. She peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on January 20, 2019.


She was educated in Lawrence County Alabama. Accepted Christ at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church. In 1971, she moved to Louisville, Ky, became a member of Cable Baptist Church and later joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

Emma was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Agneast Jones, to this union, nine children were born. She later had another daughter with the late James Foster.

Emma was a great woman of God with many attributes. She was family oriented, full of wisdom, caring, unselfish, and hard working. Emma had a heart of gold and would help anyone. She had a sense of humor you couldn’t resist, that would catch us all off guard. She knew how to make you laugh, and she loved to dance.

She was preceeded in death by both her mother and father, two sons, Craig and Lloyd Jones, great granddaughter, Swanzetta Lavelle Michelle Jones, two grandsons, Gregory Norris Hill and Kyle White, brother, Sgt. Frank Porter, sister, Emma Hall, nephew, Gary Wayne Irvin, Sister-in-Law, Irene Porter, and Son-in-Law, Preston Hill Sr.

She leaves to cherish wonderful memories: Evelyn Hill, Detroit, MI, Agneast Jr., Town Creek AL, Beverlyn Stover(Bobby Ray), Louisville KY, Geroine Jones, Detroit, MI, Helen Neal, Joann Keen, Malcolm Jones, and Tashia Jones all in Louisville, KY, one sister, Mrs.Georgia L. Jones(John Edward), Town Creek, AL, one brother, Leslie Porter, Town Creek, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a host of nephews, neices, cousins, relatives and friends.
