Emma Lou Garner Hall also known as Madear was born January 29, 1926 to the late Matilda Garth Garner and John Garner.
She joined Mt. Zion S.D.A. Church in Florence, AL where she remained a devoted member until her death. Oftentimes, she would say I’m ready and waiting on the Lord. The wait ended December 14th with her children and grandchildren at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matilda and John Garner, her husband, Frank Hall Jr., three sons, 3 grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.
Emma leaves to cherish her memory: one sister; Selma Garner, one god sister; Toby Orr; four daughters; Joyce Hall, Linda Lipscomb (Charles), Phyllis King (Howard) and, Debra Alexander (Dwight), two sons; Jeffrey Hall and Larry Hall. Nineteen grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special friend, Bill Mitchell and a very special cousin, Doris Baker.
The legacy that Madear leaves to her family is “LOVE”. She loved the Lord with all her heart and she taught us to love and be obedient to God’s Word.
