Anthony was an ordained minister of the Tennessee Valley Presbytery and had served as pastor of Alabama Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, Athens, AL. Prior to accepting his call into the ministry, Anthony was a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church. He was on the usher board and, for a time, its chaplain. One of his greatest joys at Westside was his position as youth minister. He voiced it was a thrill for him to share with the youth his experiences in life and the consequences of wrong choices. He would always let them know that God was a deliverer and could change anyone’s course. His strong belief was he hadn’t recovered, but instead had been delivered. To him, recover meant you could get again, while delivered meant you’re done.

Anthony was a gifted poet. He could freestyle, as well as pen to paper, and the words would flow. One of his poems was published in the book “By the Light of the Moon” – The Poetry Guild, titled “A Woman”. He enjoyed sharing this talent. His greatest gift was his ability to love the way God commands. He quickly took to prayer for those in need, anyplace, anytime. He was employed with Pilgrim’s Pride of Russellville, AL. He enjoyed music, sports, laughing and time with family and friends.

Forever to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 18 years Critis Fletcher; two loving daughters, Caia McDaniel, Decatur, AL and Ciji Mosley, Russellville, AL; dear to his heart, his mother Earnestine Fletcher, Decatur, AL; treasured grandchildren, JaShun and Mylah McDaniel, Decatur, AL; cherished niece, Lesslie Terrell, Charleston, SC; siblings, Michael Fletcher, Vikki Garth (Ollie), Gina Watkins, Kelly Orr (Clifford), Karlon Fletcher (Barbara), Lester Fletcher (Nella), all of Decatur, AL; Sabrina Fletcher, Huntsville, AL; Jervis Fitzgerald, California; mother-in-law, Shelvy Wilson, Euclid, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Prince Smith (Judy), Missouri City, Texas; Gregory Smith (Mildred), James Smith, Domis Smith, all of Hunstville, AL; Kent Smith (Kema), Elicott City, MD; Lonnie Smith (Ann), Muscle Shoals, AL; Keby Wilson, MD; sisters-in-law, Diedra Wilson and Lisa Wilson, Euclid, Ohio; Varlon Brackins (George), Moulton, AL; Wanda Smith, Nashville, TN; Ursula Smith, Huntsville, AL; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
