Nora "Lois Ann" Hampton, 69, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Public viewing will be held at Jackson Memory Funeral Home, Tuesday March 5, 2024 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Jackson Chapel CME Church Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
Obituary
Nora Orr Hampton was born on Monday, June 21, 1954, in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Lillian Orr and Andrew Watkins. Upon graduating from Central High School, she attended Calhoun Community College in Decatur, AL. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and later joined Jackson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Courtland, AL, she served as President of the Usher Board. She remained a devoted member until death. She quietly departed this life Tuesday February 27, 2024, at Decatur-Morgan Hospital after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sisters Bernice McCullough and Shirley Willard, and Brother Clyde McCullough.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her loving Husband of 41 years, Anthony Hampton. Two sons, LaGraun Owens, of Muscle Shoals, AL and Alexander Owens of Hillsboro, AL. Two Daughters, Pamela Bowling, of Moulton, AL, and Kitola O.(Jimmy) Harris of Decatur, AL., One Brother, Andrew (Linda) Watkins of Decatur, AL, One Sister Carolyn B. Rains of Decatur, AL, and Nine Grandchildren. Special friends Dorothy Puryear, Nadine Langham and Rosie Hobbs of Chicago, IL. Nora leaves a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
