Mr. R.B. McCoy 61, of Athens, died Sunday May 1st at his home.  He was born December 28, 1954 to the late Charles and Addie Mae McCoy.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Betty Mae Holman.  He is survived by a loving daughter, LaShandra McCoy of Decatur, AL., two sisters; Joann Turney (Joe) of Decatur, AL., Cynthia Matthews (Robert) of Huntsville, AL, three brothers; Charles Lee McCoy, Billy McCoy of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Charles McCoy Jr. (Brandi) of Madison, AL, a devoted aunt, Ruby Mae Allen of Decatur, two uncles, Johnny McCoy (Maggie), and Robert McCoy (Joann) of Cincinnati, Oh., two Close friends, Jerome Swoopes and Don Peoples.  

R.B. graduated from Austin High School in 1973 and served 8 years in the United States Army.

His funeral will be Friday, May 6th at noon here at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Decatur City Cemetery.  Public viewing will be Wednesday and Thursday from 10-7 at the funeral home.
