Lillie Kate Hood Penchion (Mattie Lou) was born November 3, 1926 in Town Creek, AL to the late Cole Hood Sr. and Leanna Fonzy Hood. She departed this life on January 8, 2017 at her residence.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Neal Penchion Sr. and her son, Neal Penchion Jr.

She is survived by one daughter,  Brenda Goodwin, Muscle Shoals, AL.; five sons, Robert Penchion, Town Creek, AL., Freddie (Sarah) Penchion, Cleveland, OH., James (Cecilie) Penchion, Waldorf, MD., Anthony Penchion, Memphis, TN., Bobby Penchion, Hornlake, MS., one god daughter; Carol Caine (Willie) Franklin, Madison, AL., four sisters; Beatrice Hood, Town Creek, AL, Irene Johnson, Muscle Shoals, AL., Della Mae Ashford, Courtland, AL., Elsie (Nathan) Wilson, Cleveland, OH., sisters-in-law; Sallye Hood and Rebecca Hood both of Town Creek, AL., Linda Savage, Muscle Shoals, AL., two special friends; Tracine Langham and Shawn Brown, thirteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
