Harold G. Childress, 77, of Muscle Shoals, formally of Town Creek died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home. His funeral will be Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 2:00 at Jackson Memory Funeral Home with Bro. Vic Brackin and Bro. Hugh Bohlin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. 
Mr. Childress was an active member of Donald Baptist Church for over 35 years and was presently a member of Faith Baptist Church in Leighton, AL. He attended Courtland High School and worked as a pipe fitter & welder at International Harvester for several years. He fabricated the 1st cab that fit on tractor for Edward Mauldin farms. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a part-time comedian. He always had a nickname for everyone he met. He was loved by many, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Comer and Velmer Childress; his wife of 52 years, Marcleen A. Childress, one daughter, Donna C. Askew, one granddaughter, Maylee Kate Childress, three brothers, Henry Webster Childress, W.J. Childress and Bobby Ray Childress, three sisters, Earon Childress, Pat McCollough and Louise Childress. He is survived by one daughter, Deanna C. Goodwin and her husband Vaughn of Trinity, AL, one son, Jason H. Childress and his wife Magan of Pelham, AL, four grandchildren, Brooklyn Tidwell, Jenna Askew, Avery and Greyson Childress, two great grandchildren, Breelyn and Jaylyn Tidwell, two sisters, Marvinelle Lemmond and her husband Sherman and Brenda Jackson, three brothers, Robert S. Childress and his wife Ann, Billy Childress and Darryl Childress, two special sisters-in-law, Sandra Childress and Peggy Agee.
Pallbearers will be Michael Childress, David Childress Chris Childress, Zac Childress, Brian Childress, Jamie McMeans and Keith Martin.
